Harlequin House is in an idyllic area within easy reach of 2 cities and surrounded by very beautiful countryside. The cities of Brecon and Hereford, both with cathedrals, museums and theatres, are approximately 15 miles away and 20 miles away respectively. Brecon also holds an annual Jazz Festival and Hereford shares in the Three Choirs Music Festival.
The house, within walking distance of Hay-on-Wye, is situated in Cusop Dingle. The small road of Cusop Dingle runs alongside Dulas Brook which marks the separation between England, and the county of Herefordshire, and Wales. The Dingle continues into the countryside which climbs towards the foothills of the famous Black Mountains, where there is a scattered mixture of small village communities, farmlands and woodlands. There is also a range of sports and activities in the area including pony trekking, gliding, canoeing on the River Wye, climbing, caving and hang gliding.
The famous town of Hay-on-Wye, the centre of which is less than a a mile away, is known both for its bookshops and the annual literary festival which has an international reputation. Being a popular town, Hay also has some interesting shops, cafes, restaurants and a weekly market.
